Look at the articles of incorporation in the announcements sections of the classifieds in a local newspaper. This will provide you with an idea of the accepted wording in order to better prepare the document. Be sure to only provide necessary information and leave out superfluous details.

The Articles of Incorporation Document begins with a three-line title header. The first line reads, “Articles of Incorporation." The second line contains the word, “of.” Place the name of the government organization on the third line of the header. Center these three lines in bold at the top of the page. Enlarge the size of the font so the letters are more prominent than those of the rest of the document.

Format the document headers in capital letters and using roman numerals (i.e. ARTICLE I, ARTICLE II, etc.). Identify the title of the article in capitals directly underneath the document headers (i.e. NAME/REGISTERED OFFICE, PURPOSE, EXCEMPTION REQUIREMENTS, etc.)
